Tryouts & Team Selection

Every year the number of sanctioned teams depends on the number of children registering and the availability of volunteer coaches. Every attempt is made to accommodate as many children into the program as possible. However, sometimes the maximum number of children allowed per team (12 for U10, 14 for U11 & U12, and 22 for U13 through U19) under the rules established by the Vermont Soccer Association, the governing body for youth soccer in Vermont, can create a situation where not all children can be accommodated.

Currently the AUSC program is not large enough to warrant tryouts, as generally most children are able to get on a team. In cases where there are more children than will fit on a single team, the Club makes its best effort to get another coach for an additional team. If it isn’t possible to accommodate all players, selection is based on a first-come first-serve basis by date of registration.

Get involved with the AUSC

The AUSC is a volunteer based organization that relies on the involvement of all of the parents in order to succeed. To volunteer do you need to know soccer? Absolutely not! We have many parents involved with the club that have had their soccer knowledge grow right along with their children.
